Fair Work Commission Annual Wage Review 2021 - Minimum Wage increased 2.5%.

Updated: May 23, 2022

Fair Work Commission annual wage increased 2.5% for 2021.

After last years (2020) decision not to raise the minimum wage in all Modern Awards, the Fair Work Commission announced on 16 June 2021 the National Minimum Wage will increase by 2.5%. The increase applies to anyone who is paid minimum Award wages or the National Minimum wage.

For anyone not covered by a Modern Award or an Agreement, the new National Minimum Wage will be $772.60 per week or $20.33 per hour.

So what do you need to do?

  1. An Award covers most Employees. If you’re not sure which award applies, use the FWO Find My Award tool.

  2. If you’re covered by a registered agreement, you should check it to see whether this increase affects you.

  3. You can read our online documentation to update your Awards if required in e-PayDay.

For Modern Award covered employees, this increase will come into effect in 3 different stages; from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2021, 1 September 2021, or 1 November 2021, depending on the Modern Award that applies.

You can learn more about the changes by visiting the Fair Work Ombudsman.
